Need help finding a gaming mouse

Thread Starter
I have this wireless microsoft mouse with really bad connection and a buggy scroll, so I've decided to get a new mouse. I will mainly use this for fps games. I've looked at the black mamba, but it has features that I won't use and is really expensive. I'd like to keep it under $80. Also, I'd like to buy it on newegg . Thanks!

if u want to get a taste for what a really good gaming mouse has to offer over a non-gaming mouse i recomend a MX 518, i had one for years and everything else i tried had to be sold off.

I have finally found a worthy replacement, Steelseries Xai, which had gone on half price at best buy in stores. if you can find one i highly recommend it. excellent quality, very sleek and looks awesome in person. incredible comfort and precision. literally improved my performance in games which before only the mx 518 could do.

also, you can not go wrong with Deathadder by Razer.

if you notice you like to control the mouse with your fingertips and bob it around for the high precision situations, try a small mouse like the Logitech G9x. the steelseries xai and mx528 both are nice for claw gripping (fingertip control) and are big enough to please most everyone. can't go wrong with either.

good luck

I've been using a G9x for several months now, and I absolutely love it. It's more of a claw grip mouse, but I get away using my half claw half palm nonsense grip. I picked it up at best buy (price matched amazon) for I think $75. The g9x is one of the best mice I've ever used, and I'd say give it a try and if you get it at best buy like I did you can always take it back within 30 days if you don't like it.

I would definitely recommend either the SS Xai or the Logitech G500. I don't have any experience with the Death Adder, but with regard to the other two; they are amazing on hard pads such as the Steel Series 4HD. Word of caution, from what I've noticed (since they both use the Avago 9500 sensor), they may have tracking issues on cloth pads after a lot of use (My G500 did that where I had a lot of negative acceleration).

tl;dr: If you go with a mouse that uses the Avago9500 sensor (I think the Xai, G500 and G9x all do), then be wary of cloth pads.

I'm using my G9x on a cloth pad. Actually on one of those free cloth pads from artscow. The ones that they had a free shipping free mouse pad deal on. I havent run into any problems with it, but that easily could just be me.
