If you're running a 6970, get the 10.12a hotfix drivers.

I believe the majority of people that use them are happy with the newest drivers, and just use them and enjoy.

The people that have a problem, for whatever reason, run to forums to find a solution and/or complain. If you go by what you read on forums, it looks like most everyone has problems. Just the way it is, no matter what the product or forum is.

MSI Twin Frozr II R6870 with 10.12 driver is working fine, and I'm happy with Kombuster benchmarks. This is the first time I felt like posting about it. Many people won't.

You should just try it for yourself, you can't believe everything you read.

I use a 5850 and the latest drivers seem to provide the best results for video playback. Personally, I haven't really had problems with any of AMD's drivers except for maybe a bug in 10.7/10.9 here and there, but it's not like it caused catastrophes.

HA, Thats the problem. Dont read were people complain about the drivers every single time a new one was realesed. Because someone will always get on here and do that. Truth is about 99% of us, who have stable properly working systems, do not ever experience any problems any more than the previous drivers. In short, use new drivers.

Oh yeah, and with newer cards, the drivers will always get better.

I updated to the newest drivers for my 6870 and went from 3100 to 1400 on 3D mark (Passmark performance test 7). Then I tried my Win 7 experience index, had a 7.8 (7.9 is highest) to a 6.6. I re booted and did a bunch of setting adjustments to match what it was with the 10.10. The results were the same. I uninstalled the 10.12 and reinstalled the 10.10. And the higher previous results returned. The performance when I reinstalled felt like I just installed a new upgraded card.

I didn't complain to anybody about it. But I could give the OP the same advice about people who claim there are no problems with updated drivers. Just because they have not had problems with updated drivers slowing down their cards, does not make it fact. So don't take it too seriously when you hear " The drivers will always get better"
