Core i7 930 3.67 GHz Temps to High?

Thread Starter
I'm just starting to get into overclocking and I've been looking around a bit here. I'm currently following the Guide to Overclocking the Core i7 920 or 930 to 4.0 GHz. I'm not really looking to set records, but I'd like a nice stable OC in the 3.6 range. I've worked my way up to 3.67 after 3 attempts and I'm stable there which is obviously no big whoop for this chip. I haven't started dialing in RAM timings or vcore to make it "efficient" yet. However, I'm concerned about my load temps. I'm maxing at around 71C after 4 hours or so of Prime 95 blended torture test and I think that's high. I'm at 1.25 vcore and I know I can bring that down while I'm dialing it in, but it seems to me that everyone else is getting lower temps with the same or higher vcores with higher overclocks. The screenshot I've attached should give you all the info you need. Any ideas? Is a reseat of the heatsink in order?

Thanks,
Klint

you should be fine at those temps I wouldn't stress too much about it, although a reseat might help some

Those temperatures are completely normal. If it is under 85C under load then there is nothing to worry about. Many people even consider 100C the max. I see no reason to be worried about 70C.

although the temps r by no means any issue, i agree with the previous poster that a reseating might be good.

i'm on a i7 920 d0 and i clocked it to 3.8ghz @ 1.3V in bios, CPUID shows between 1.247 to 1.28, but my max temp was 68C using the Hyper 212+ which i think isnt as good as your cooler
