I am using DDR2 but really want to know how much faster is DDR3, then later I use DDR3 with new computer

This article might help your decision. But most/all modern motherboards use DDR3 anyway.

It's negligible if you have tight timings on the DDR2. You may notice a difference in synthetic benchmarks but other than that there is no real difference.

As you increase the speed of the RAM, you increase the latency...

Which kind of nullifies the increase in speed.

Roughly speaking DDR2 @ 1066 CAS5 is equivalent to DDR3 @ 1600 CAS8

I am using ddr 667, do you think gaming performance will be much better with common ddr3 ram now?

No, it's only difference in synthetic benchmarks. You may notice a slight difference if you add more RAM but that's it. No REAL noticeable difference.

Yes, things will open slightly quicker, but other than that there is no point.

Kind of a moot point. If you plan on building a new rig, you're definitely going to want/need DDR3.

I really don't think anything needs to access data faster than 500 MB/ Second, let's get real, no application I know is going to move that much data in and out of memory..

With latency as low as it is (especially in the DDR2 RAM), RAM is at it's Apex, though DDR4 and Intel's Halswell CPU may change that if the RAM Speed of the board hits >= 2000MHz. =D
