There is no way conceivable that is true, Chinese prices are generally as much or slightly lower than pretax prices in the United States on computer hardware. Furthermore, Intel is not stupid enough to create that big a gap i prices between geographic locations.

1 USD = 7.77 HKD

A 32GB iPhone4 is 5888 HKD which is 757USD, the same thing is 299USD in America with a 200$ cancellation fee... your point? Prices are lower in HK for some goods mainly because of reduced tariffs but that does not mean anything is going to be 30% of the cost that it is in the United States.
