Asus P8P67 Memory Slot Problem.

I assume I have a bad board, but wanted to check in here before I return it...hoping I missed something...

If I put a memory stick in either Slot A1 or A2, the red light comes on (next to the memory slots) and I can't even get into the bios. I tried pressing the memory OK button, it flashes then nothing.

I can put memory in both or either B1 and B2 (I know that isn't the recommended setting) and I can boot and run fine.

Sounds dead to me, but I am hoping I missed something in some setting somewhere?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi,
I didn't spend a lot of time trying to fix it. I just returned it and got a new one. No problems since then.

The problem you may have is that you may not be able to get a replacement until the new boards come in.

You could try to up the memory voltage a little and manually set the timings of the memory.

good luck

I had the same exact problem with you gooddog, and you 100% sure it's a memory slot problem?
I tried switching from A2 to B2 slot and still the same problem. It won't POST at all.
