Though I did take your advice and did a Kombustor stability test for the last 15mins on DX11 with AA:ON 4X for last 15mins just to check. It was fine at 76FPS avg 69C highest temp. When I did a benchmark after I hit 100FPS.

Glad to hear it. How loud does that Twin Frozr II get?

Did you use afterburner to chuck a little more voltage in?
If you are going to get 2 of them like me you wont need to OC as high. I plan on 950/1150 when I get mine as long as the cooler stays fairly quiet. If not I'll lower the fans until I get sub 75c temps and quiet fans.

you could just get a gt 430 for physx?

I can run a GT 430 for physx only? I didn't think it was possible to run an AMD and Nvidia together? Is it crossfire or sli or just separate without a cable link?

Can I go any higher with a second card like a GTX 460 with it for better performance on Physx? I'm newbie when it comes to crossfire or SLI, I've always had just one card.

Can run teh GT430 as a separate card just for Physx. Will benefit games that use it.

If you had a choice two AMD 6870's or one with a Nvidia GTS 430 which is better do you think?

I have never really tried a separate physx card but I made the choice already, 2x 6870's.

Overall I think that would produce the bigger benefit. I might go get a GT430 and sling it inthe spare 4x slot as well. CF + physx, whats not to like.

Afterburner doesn't offer voltage tweak currently on the AMD 6800 cards. It's non-functional.

PS. The video card fans are quite btw. I've got two 200mm CoolerMaster Flowmaster fans on top and front of case with a side 140mm Promiltach Vortex fan on the side blowing and I don't hear the video card past the fan at all. At least not with the MSI Twin Frozr II card I don't. I had a Biostar for a short time came with rig I refunded and it would climb to 70% sounded like I had to fasten my seat belt because computer case was ready for take off.

2x 6870's over 1x 6870 + GT430 - any day of the week. smile.gif

Yeah I'll have to agree with you jdmfish - if I had to have Physx then I'd just switch to two GTX 460's and be done.

I'm looking for the performance period. Not many games use Physx in the first place and the ones that do I can live without the better looking effects for slightly tuned down.

I want the performance for the next 3-4 years and be able to keep up with gaming.
