New OCer - Need help:]

Okay so I've set up a thread for ocing cpu and ram in AMD CPUs section. But I saw that I should set up a thread for my GPU here ^^

I have a crappy computer and I'm trying to OC it till I get a better one :]

My GPU is a 8600GT :[ yes i know...

I'm wanting to overclock it... if that's suggested:]

I've read about OCing RAM and cpu but yet to have read anything about GPU... because my priority concern was ocing the cpu/ram

Here are my specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H (BIOS ver. F5)
PSU: (included with raidmax smilodon) Raidmax 500w
RAM: G.SKILL DDR2 800 2GB (1x2) pc2-6400

Here is my CPU-Z .txt file

Help is appreciated ^^ Thank you so much you guys :]

P.S.: Do troll/bash if i seem plain dumb. I'm too ignorant...

Go HERE and add your system specs. Makes it a little easier than always having to post what you have.

To OC your 8600GT. Download MSI Afterburner and install it. It will look pretty easy when you're done installing it. It will give you sliders that you can slide up and down to increase Core Clock/Shader Clock and Memory Clock. Go little by little and also using a program like MSI Kombustor to check to see if your card is stable. Make sure you also have adequate cooling since when you OC, it will put out more heat. You can also change fan profiles in Afterburner.

I'm using msi afterburner but I'm not sure what to do with some things. I'm raising core and shader clock linked together, and it was default 600, and i raised to 720 using kombuster to see if it's stable.

I'm not sure what to do with memory clock... it's just at 800mhz atm.

What's the highest temperature I should go up to before it's unsafe?

i raised to max 780mhz core clock and raised my mem clock to 950 and my driver crashed @.@ right now im testing 750/1800 and 925 mem clock. seems pretty stable atm. but my gpu temp is 69 o.o;
