I just realized that the mobo I ordered might not come with a backplate for the heatsink mounts, can anyone verify, and is this normal? do I need to buy one separate or can I use one from an old lga 775?

Ah do you mean the backplate for the CPU cooler? If so no as most coolers which use pushpins (think stock cooler, basic aftermarket ones) will just use the pre-drilled holes in the PCB to mount, whereas larger aftermarket coolers should come with their own backplate to reduce the strain on the board.

since I want to use my arctic cooling freezer 7 pro, which did not come with a backplate, but I am currently using it in my lga775 mobo, do you think I can just take the lga775 backplate and use it on the lga1155 and put my cooler in there?
