Now my question is, I have that intel thing but version is 10.0.0.1046, is it ok?

Also, how do I know if TRIM is working?

Oh, and, I did not update the firmware frown.gif Do I gain anything by that?

Again, thanks mate.
I don't know what the firmware update changes, but it must not be anything big because I haven't seen much talk about it.

Anyway, I have a confession to make: I actually prefer 10.0.0.1046. But the only reason why I keep recommending 10.1.0.1008 is because it's right on Intel's website, so it's easier to get people to trust it. redface.gif But with 10.0.0.1046 (the one I prefer), I usually link to Station Drivers only to end up playing 20 Questions.

The reason why I prefer 10.0.0.1046 is because for some reason, my restart time is slightly slower with 10.1.0.1008. It's the only difference I noticed, so I went back to 10.0.0.1046 and got my faster reboot time back. smile.gif So yeah, I'm glad you have 10.0.0.1046! Where did you get it from anyway? lol You're sneaky, you know that? biggrin.gif

Anyway, since you have Windows 7 and a solid state drive that supports TRIM, and since you have 10.0.0.1046, I can basically guarantee that it's working. Unfortunately, all we can do is check to see if the TRIM command is actually being issued. But whether or not it's actually working cannot be checked (as far as I know). So to at least check that, open the Start menu, type cmd, right-click it and run it as administrator, then type fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify. If it comes back saying "DisableDeleteNotify = 0", then the TRIM command is being sent/issued. But it doesn't show whether or not TRIM is actually working. But fortunately, I believe that we have the peace of mind in knowing that TRIM is working if we have Windows 7, a solid state drive that supports TRIM, and a driver that allows it to work. But all AHCI does is it makes things a little better (such as allowing the use of Intel's RST driver). hehe smile.gif

Well, I installed it from my motherboard's CD, it had that version, I am glad to hear it's better.

All I get is a bunch of stuff, and right at the end:

DisableDeletenotify

But I don't see any 0 :/

Is it bad?

Wow, that's fantastic. I guess I didn't expect these new motherboards to have anything newer than 9.6 because Intel skipped right from 9.6 to 10.1 (we both have 10.0). I mean, they didn't have anything in between on their site for some reason.

Anyway, this is very good for me to know!

Whoa. So when you press enter after typing fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify, it just responds with "DisableDeleteNotify" with nothing after it?

If so, then I wouldn't know what to make of it.

Usually, pressing Enter after entering this command produces something like DisableDeleteNotify = 0 or DisableDeleteNotify = 1 (I think...).

Are you running it as an administrator (by right-clicking and choosing that option)?

Yes, I am (Although I have UAC set to minimum so it doesn't bother, that shouldn't affect it, should it?).
