Graphics and the SATA Cable

Well i was just installing my new HIS Radeon 6870 into my Motherboard and everything was all going good until....
BAM!! it covers the SATA ports
any suggestions on how i can fix this
i've been told right angle SATA cables but i dunno they might be still to high

Angled SATA cables should work; maybe you'll have to "trim" them down to fit, but I don't know of any other way.

same issue here, right angle ones may work, cheapest on ebay. but im gonna watercool, so the boxy cooler is coming off smile.gif should free up the space i need. so you could look at 3rd party coolers aswell

Right angle sata cables are only about a centimeter high or less. Put them on first then the card and it should work.

Changing the fan wouldnt make a difference as the graphics are full length and cover all of the avaliable SATA and right angles cover the Sata port right below my other one (i only have two sata ports on my Mobo)

maybe 'left' angle (thats if they exist)

Yes, left angle connectors do exist.

I think an angle connector should solve your problem.

If it does not, a possible solution is to use a PCIe x16 riser card to raise up the card. (But then the card will need to have some additional fixation as it cannot connect to the case's rear normally.

why would you use a right angle connector?

my gpu covers my sata ports but i use a flat connector else it won't fit
