Yet another fussy 1090t Overclock

Thread Starter
Hi Guys

I hope everyone is having a positive start to the new year!

Hope I’m posting in the correct thread but here goes.

I have a nice 1090T BE CPU, Asus Crosshair IV board, “Not so nice XMS 1600 3x2GB 9-9-9-24 1.65 RAM, GTX 570 all chilling out with a H70 on top

I can get a stable overclock to 4Ghz, however when I go to 4100+ stability becomes an issue. Crashing, sticky screen i.e like a screen shot, BSOD and restarts.

I notice also before this happens CORE# 5 gettings killed in Prime 95

Now I think, Im at work at the moment so cant do a lookup but I believe that my settings are as follows:

21x200
V Core voltage 1.52v
NB-CPU voltage 1.4v
3000 Mhz NB
2600 Mhz HT
1333-9-9-9-24 RAM – 1.65v
LLC – Auto

Temps dont got more than 58c on load

Anymore useful settings changes I will check tonight

Sadly the PC will conks out with the aboe settings; am I asking too much of an overclock?

Any questions please let me know

Yup, Look's like not enough voltage if one of the core's are failing.

Try faster memory speed's and keep at CL9 but you would have to boost your FSB though possibley which may help as well.

Lower your HT as well. That might be the problem as well, Don't forget, any HT speed around 2500-2600 around like that or any higher will decrease performance, There was some review's about it somewhere.

Lower your NB to 2800MHz btw, too see if this may help, and get your NB volts to 1.3V

Lower your HT back to 2000 and add a little more voltage. BTW, what are your peak temps at your current settings?

Fair enough I will give that a blast this evening.

I dropped down the ram from 1600 to 1333 as I thought maybe the NB / HT will exhaust the ram at 1600mhz

---

Peak temps around 30-40c

Core temps 37C ish

Faster NB will help with faster RAM overclocks

But As the other person said about. Lower your HT speed around stock. Too high of a HT speed will decrese system performance
