If you check my choice of HDDs, my primary would be a SSD, while my second just storage.

So far I have changed the cooling from H50 to CoolerMaster Hyper 212 fan, the RAM to Mushkin Blackline 2x4GB at 1600mhz, and will pick the corsair PSU.

I was looking at:

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=28816&...=Samsung%20SSI

Is the RPM not a bit slow? Does it make a difference when compared to a 7400 or a 10000 RPM?

Also, from the reviews the spinpoint (Linked above) seems to emit a click noise when being accessed.

In general, I am looking for a rig that is upgradeable (Hence the big HAF X), will run smoothly and last me for atleast 6 years. I picked hexa-core over quad since I believe that it will help reduce stress on the CPU and therefore lasting longer. Basically I want to be able to play graphic-intensive games for quite a while at high FPS. Also, what do you guys think of HAF X?

Thanks a lot for the help!

Have you maybe considered the CoolIT Vantage A.L.C as your cpu cooler? It's very good, Has a LCD display to switch from Quiet, Performance and Extreme mode for overclocking. Plus it will show you the water tempature.

Samsung Spinpoint F3 in RAID 0 can achieve speeds of upto 230MB/s

btw, have a look at the CoolIT Vantage as the cooler I recommend it

Maybe this is just inexperience, but I think I'd rather deal with a Canadian website due to it being easier to purchase and deal with. Unfortunately, NCIX do not carry the spinpoint F3, so I might just go with a slightly more expensive caviar.

Seeing the suggestion of the F3 on RAID 0, I might omit the SSD.

I looked into the coolit vantage, I might just get that. Just to clarify, as I am slightly confused with this: the coolit vantage, as well as the H50/H70 and the CM Hyper 212 all replace the CPU heatsink correct?

How is this build? Worth $1700 (Before taxes and S&H)?

And also, why would I go intel when, from what I've seen, Phenom X6 1090T OC keeps up with the $1200 Intel 980X?
