Storm Scout and H70

Thread Starter
Hi. Recently My Idle temps have gone up to around 40-42 degrees and im not happy with this. I have tried searching for my answers to no avail.

I currently have an Asus Silent Knight CPU cooler with an AMD Phenom II X4 955 (3.2 Ghz- comp specs below).

I Would like to buy the Corsair H70.

Will this cooler fit in my Coolermaster Storm Scout case?
Will i need to remove the top fan? / should i remove the top fan or purchase the h50 so i can keep the top fan ( from pictures i have seen, the H50 seems to fit with the top fan still in place.

Thanks.

Case: CM Storm Scout
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 (3.2 Ghz)
CPU Cooler: Asus Silent Knight
Mobo: Gigabyte MA770T-UD3P
RAM: 4GB DDR3 G.Skill
PSU: Coolermaster PRO 600W Modular
Hard Drives: 2 x 320GB HDD, 1 x Vertex 2 SSD
Graphics Card: GeForce 9500GT
Case Fans: Rear 120mm, Top 140mm, Front 140mm and 2 x 120mm on side window.

Why not try something like a CM Hyper 212+?
As much money as you pay for a Corsair H50/70, you could get yourself a Air Cooler that performs just as well.

It fit's in my Antec 900, I had to mod the case slightly (cut a plastic clip off the side panel) but nothing major.
It's thick 4 inches or so, fits in any 120mm fan spot with the width clearance.
If you are putting it in your normal rear 120mm fan spot it will not interfere with the top fan since the only dimension that is changed in the width.
The H50 block is much higher off the CPU than the H70 is which is nice because part of the CPU socket may end up behind the fan.

Check my sig for pictures if that help at all.

Basically if you have a 120 mm Fan fitting the H50/60/70 will fit in general
Or as ive just looked at the case you could fit it to the back of the case or you could fit it to the roof as that also takes a 120 mm fan

Thanks for your replies, I want the h70 as it is a slosed loop water cooling system, My tower is on the floor so sucks up more dust than i would like so the dust wont affect cooling as much.

I know he h70 will fit to teh back fan but im still not sure it will fit without removing the top case fan as the h70 sticks out a fair amount from teh rear of the case and is also quite a high radiator so the top fan might be in the way. so i need facts for a purchase of this amount of money as i dont want to risk it being a money limited student lol

Cheers all.

Don't buy a H70. just get a H50. they perform nearly the same.
spend the extra money on getting good fans for your H50.
