i can take the 2600k to 4.7ghz with Ht on stable with 1.35v tho and that mite end up making me like it over the 950. And that 4.7 can prolly be done with a air cooler for sure. Only thing is, the way it just stops. NO MORE. DONE. 48,49,50. nope. nothing was really helping. Changing the blck up any wouldn't post at all. Overclocking the X58 platform is way more fun and you can tell whats not going any higher. If I can hit 4.7 with 1.35v then I should be able to boot at least at 4.8-5ghz with say 1.45-1.5, but nope.
Has MSI implemented the Bios fix that Gigabyte and Asus did? There wasa setting that was first discovered on Intel boards, which was discovered not available on other vendor boards. It was reported to GB and Asus, which made the change in the bios. I think it had to do with Internal CPU PLL Overvolt. It is somewhere in this 4000+ long thread. Once the change was applied people were able to OC higher.
Edit forgot link.
It was around in this area tho. http://www.overclock.net/intel-gener...eased-200.htmlEdited by bratas - 1/10/11 at 7:45pm
