Firstly I would like to thank you for taking the time to do this, secondly if I can be of any assistance please let me know.
Might I suggest you download all the game benchmarks I suggest or the game itself/bench/then delete it afterwards.
Finally could you please run these tests on the latest graphics solution available to you, for example 5series nvidia 6 series ATi......if not possible just use the 580GTX. Thanks.
------- As a side note I'd like to say, I am a gamer and gaming performance is the ONLY thing I care about, for that reason you can understand if I completely disregard anything that doesn't concern pure gaming output performance. + I come from a programming background, thank you for listening.
(For the following ALL at 1920x1080p - MAX ALL (not a box unticked, Depth Of Field, Physics, DX10 & 11, all draw distance MAX, No of X on screen MAX) - NO VSYNC - 1xAA (so no Aliasing effectively) & 16xAF if possible (it is MAX - Texture in some games)
>Crysis 2 (when it comes out)
>Metro 2033
>GTA IV
>3dMark Vantage 1.02 - Performance
>3dMark 11 - Performance (please download or wait for updates)
>Crysis & Crysis Warhead
>Final Fantasy XIV - benchmarking program (HIGH 1080p only)
>Flight Simulator X
>R.U.S.E. (be sure to MAX every textures I want to see them at MAX)
*Plus a shout out to all the epic gamers who know about RUSE CPU pwnage.
>Mafia II
>Kane & Lynch
>Starcraft II
If this is too hard for you:
1.R.U.S.E.
2.GTA IV
3.STALKER:Call of Pripyat
4.Crysis 2
Note: If R.U.S.E. is absolutely taking the piss out of you, you can tame it a little, but give the performance scores on MAX anyway D:
As you can see I am a serious Gamer and have chosen to test on a number of statistics.
(Please if possible do each test with and without SLi only up to SLI x2) - Please also do not use FRAPS - I am only interested in the benchmarking score.
-Personally I do not think (if you test these as stated) that there will be any doubt which CPU is best.
*IMHO coming from a programming background, and ALL the research I've seen I think the 980X will be a clear winner by performance increases of 15% at least, though I have seen COMPLETELY contradicting results on the net, sometimes the 980X being completly justified other times not so much IF AT ALL :/ I would like to just clear this up once and for all.
Finally I would like you to all remember, 980X is 200ish-700 dollars more if you know how to shop, and I'm not revealing any sources. If I see what I am expecting to see, factoring in that BIG TECHNOLOGY games take 3-5years to make + 2012 games are still in the pipelines based on i7 technology + Ivy Extreme is the first to be released late Q4-2011 with Ivy i7 equivalents late Q2-2012 + I won't be gaming 2013+ I'll be happy to part with my money now for a system that will run 1080p?Max_Settings until then.
Personally I would have no problem getting a P67 if 980X doesn't give me the results I need, however I will be pissed off because new technology right around the corner will make 2600K look like PiECE oF ****, plus many of us think AMD+ATi could make a comback with Intel having fought with Nvidia n' all.
And just for the sake of venting: would some of you P67 people please not spam, opinions are like *******s everybody has one but nobody wants to hear it, back up everything you say with NOT JUST with sources from the internet, but with intelligent reasons as to why pertaining on facts to the nature of software/hardware achitecture.......same goes for X58 ppls but you guys seem to be following this rule already.
Few! Just had to say that because everyone with a 2600K just seems to be trying to justify why they upgraded now instead of waiting 2012, you guys come off like shop merchants and nobody want to hear that ****. You might be right, but saying your right ahead of time doesn't do anybody any favours! FACTS FIRST, BUL**** LATER.
oh sigh and just to mention it, I'm not an "anything" kind of guy, if it's good and I need it, it's mine, period, don't give a fuk about the brand, sorry!
