question on which system to buy

Thread Starter
I have a little dilema. I am going to be building a system soon and will be using it mainly for gaming and for my graphic design courses. I have always went with AMD in the past but that was because of budget. Please give me your thoughts.

AMD build: http://secure.newegg.com/Shopping/Sh...px?Submit=view

Intel build:http://secure.newegg.com/Shopping/Sh...px?Submit=view

I have a budget of $2,000 and that includes shipping and I only need the tower portion of my build.

I am planning on later hooking up a 6 monitor array (3x2) if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance for you input.

Hi sorry your links dont seem to work,
I would go for intel if your spending 2k though, as the i7 slightly dominates amd atm, but amd are great value.

personally i would go for the i7 hands down,
here is a thread on the 950 vs the 1090
http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/...50-vs-amd.html
pretty much everyone says i7.

Edit graphics card wise both the amd and intel build are pretty killer
the rest of the kit looks good aswell, hope it goes well.

thanks for the read just got another question though

how well would the i7 950 do when rendering and using the adobe cs5 master suite
post #7 of 11
why not go with sandy bridge instead of buying an i7-950? a 5ghz OC isn't attractive enough for you?

i do believe that i will take your guys advise and get the rasa kit instead of the h70

im a little hesitant on going with sandybridge right now it seems to still be a lil buggy and with my school work i can not afford to waste time updating all the time and running into stability

Although i do love overclocking and it would be mighty fun to get ahold of one of those 2600k

if i do decide to finally go with intel should i use the 6950 cards in xfire or gtx 470 superclocked in sli
