The 6870 is about on-par with the 5850, but with new drivers on the horizon, the 6870 is definitely the better chip.

the 6870 is a wee bit better.
but at the prices the 5850 is at right now...it's hard to pass up.

I think the 5850 has more overclocking headroom. A lot of people can hit 5870+ performance. The 6870 has better tessellation and has better crossfire scaling.

The 6870 is about 6% faster and they will scale significantly better in CF.

I've got my MSI twin frozr II 5850 at 1050core/1175mem at 1.275v. Very stable, temps never over 65 in gaming or 72ish after hours of stress testing. Very nice card for overclocking, 3 year warranty on this card too

Ive hit the same clock wall as the 5850's on stock volts, ive tried to juice it up in software to no avail. Still gathering potientiometers and trying to see what she can do.
