Intel X25-M 120gb - ICH10R - P5Q Pro Turbo..

Hi all..

First post, please be kind (and forgive me if I appear a little lacking on the knowledge front...)

I replaced my mainboard yesterday, system now stands at:

P5Q Pro Turbo.
Q6600 G0 (CV 1.120V).
Akasa AK 965 cooler
Intel 120GB X25-M SSD.
Samsung HD103UJ 1TB Sata 300 7.2k.
2 x 2gb PC-6400 (Buffalo...)
Zotac GTS250 Eco 1gb.
(New Coolermaster CM690 II with GX650 psu with 2 additional 140mm fans in top).
W7 Ultimate x64.

I didn't do an OS reinstall when doing the build as W7 booted fine. I'm now wondering whether I have to include Intel's RST..?

Do the figures look reasonable for this set up or would you think it would benfit from installing RST? Am I right in thinking that you can only install RST during the OS installation?

I have many more questions to ask as I do want to do some oc'ing in time but one step at a time..

Thanks.

You don't have to install RST but you can if you want (You might see a slight increase) and you don't have to reinstall your OS because you had your SATA set to AHCI or RAID from the start by looks of it.

Numbers look good....But if your going to test it now and again just do one pass 500MB.

Thanks for that Peter.

I actually had the BIOS set to IDE when I first booted the new motherboard but have since changed it to AHCI...
