Gaming problem

Thread Starter
I have buyed a gtx 570, but the games are running with a little lag (except COD:BO that is running very laggy and dirt2 sometimes), i really dont know what to do. A short time, i've tried to OC my processor, but it didnt work, could this lag be the processor? Or even Windows? (i have a windows 7 64x) How do i know whats the problem?
Thanks
(i didnt know where to post this )

When you say lag, do you mean low framerates or what?

Take your time reading, literally trawling through countless explanations on how to overclock properly. Get your overclock of ALL components running stable, cool and well within recommended settings guidelines.

This may include getting a better CPU cooler, as you may be running the stock one. Regardless, you should be aiming to get your CPU running around 3.5ghz as a minimum. Your RAM should be optimized with the highest speeds and tightest timings possible, and your memory controller will probably need tweaking (I'm not up to date on Intel OC's). There are countless overclock guides out there - use them and take your time in the process, lest you fry your PC unwittingly. Overclocking is safe and easy for those prepared to take the time to do it right, and those who double check instructions before acting.

Secondly, take the time to update the BIOS of your motherboard, get the latest drivers for sound/network, a clean windows install with all the bloatware removed, clean installs of the latest GPU drivers, defragged hard-drives, full virus/spyware cleans, firewalls, the whole shebang ...

With your CPU and memory effectively overclocked and your OS nice and polished you will run almost any game currently out at max.

Timing is everything - 1333mhz with CL9 MIGHT be a hindrance, where as 1333 CL6 would be as effectively fast as 1600 CL7 or 1800 CL8 (approx.)

RAM shouldn't be the source of his problem anyways - it's likely a stock CPU bottleneck. Overclocking the CPU/IMC will probably alleviate most of the bottleneck, and a Windows/Drivers overhaul and tune-up will probably do the rest.

1- I think its not the ram because when my config was different the ram take with no problem that games.

2- I can say that possibly is the processor, but i cannot afirme, because when i had a gts 250 i run dirt2, mw2, gta4 with no problem, and now im running them with lag.

My graphic card driver is up to date (266.35 beta), but my processor driver maybe not, could someone send me the link of the most recently driver for my processor?

Im thinking on format everything maybe it should solve the problem no?

PS:thanks for the replys (:

Totally sounds like drivers. Use Driver Sweeper or similar software and wipe all your video drivers in safe mode. Then reinstall when prompted with the latest drivers.

A complete format is the next step, and also might be the answer. If you've run with the processor at the same speed before without problems, then its a software/driver problem without fail.

Regardless, overclock that processor - you WILL notice speed gains in games.
