*yawn* whatever.. I dont think I am misleading like people said NH-D14 will bend a motherboard or whatever, they misleading and misinformation. Umm.. tighten screws?, because You are paranoid about mount and temp.

I didn't follow a manual or instruction at all. NH-D14 settings in my rig as excellent, and lowest temp Since 2010 after didn't too tight. but I made sure the whole assembly be firm and rigid. as i said using a common sense & confidence.. I aint retarded! thanks..

If you think you have overkill in cooling it means your overclock is set too low.

I note that with my Megahalems there is a slight sag when the mb is upright. With my D14 there is zero sag when the mb is upright. The top of the mb is held to the mb tray with three screws. The heatsink makes a cpu sandwich between the contact block and the back brace. It's a blessed solid mount - the best out there, IMO.
Agreed, the D14 mount system is second to none, I really would not worry about the excess weight given the outstanding job Noctua have done with the mounting system. Watch or read any reviews of the D14 and they almost always mention how good the mounting system is. You will be fine thumb.gif

An H70 with its ridiculously loud 2000rpm fans comes close to the D14 with its lovely quiet 1200rpm fans and no pump noise, yes.

Cooler is supposed to arrive today and the AM2+ mounting looks pretty easy so I think I am going to throw it on my Phenom II 920 to see if I can hold 3.8ghz+.
I was stable at 3.8ghz with prime and a Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 pro but my temps were way too high. I think I was at 1.5v also.

Might try for 4ghz.....Going to be hard when it take 1.45v for 3.6 and 1.5v for 3.8.

For a Thuban or C3, sure. But if he's got an earlier C2, I doubt it. They only seem to hit 4+ ghz with a good water system or sub-ambient, except for rare cases and very talented overclockers.
