Quick Questions for New PC Build

Hello,

I am currently building a new rig and need some advice on the processor type I should by.

With the latest release, should I go with the i7-2600K or should I just go ahead and save the few bucks listed on NewEgg for the i7-950.

I would appreciate a motherboard recommendation as well if you can think of something right off the top of your head. Normally I went with EVGA motherboards in my previous builds.

I appreciate your time and responses.

Thanks.

Well from what I read about in a lot of the reviews, 1366 and 1156 are basically dead. From here on out it is 1155 and in the future, socket 2011. So basically, if you want something that will be more future-proof, go with SB. Plus, SB has a new instruction set that is suppose to lead to some pretty interesting stuff.
