It supposed to be an upgrade but my wireless signal decreased a LOT! I am lagging like crazy on XBL even though I have open NAT. What gives?

Wireless > Advanced Settings
and increase "Tx Power" keep it under 125.
Mine is set at 125. You'll see a massive increase in signal strength.

Is it ok to increase to 125? I mean safety wise?

It's said not to go over 125.
But then again, I've ran at 125 for idk... 3-4 years now?
Not to mention it's OC'd you'll find that also in the settings lol
If you want, run at like 100 or so. I just said f it and it's still chuggin along.

even with tx set to 125 it still feels slower than factory rt n-16 firmware...

Oc ing the CPU has nothing to do with wireless strength right?

Increasing TX Power won't increase speed. It increased your signal strength. & OC'ing the CPU on the router is more for allowing more data to come through if you're having massive amounts of data entering/leaving, tons of connections etc etc.

Run a speed test, I'm sure things didn't slow down.

They talk about this on other sites, but this is just one I Googled up real fast. I've kept mine at 80 for well over two years now.

I don't know if having a different router makes a difference in how high you can crank it.
