Memory overclocking: How much does it help performance?

Thread Starter
I honestly have no idea. And I guess this could be asked about RAM in general too, although I'm more interested in how it helps video card (gaming) performance.

Has anyone done any testing themselves or have any links that show some hard numbers?

I've heard that you should OC the core clock then move on to the memory because if you do them both at the same time, it can stop you from reaching the core clock threshold. Any truth to that?

What exactly will OCing the memory help with?
