Which 6870?

Thread Starter
I'm a weak person and have little patience so I'm giving in and getting a 6870. It's between the Asus reference card and the Asus DirectCu card. Hoping someone can vouch for the DirectCu card since it had a great rep on the 5850.

DirectCu

MSI TwinFrozr is amazing, apparantly and the Sapphire Toxic one.

I don't know anything about Asus cards, so, can't recommend either of those two. I can say that if you want to OC the CU version is better, as the stock cooler is awful. You're still better off looking into the MSI one if you want the best temps and highest OC's on a factory card.

bump.

The MSI Twin Frozr card is a little more than I'd like to spend. The Sapphire non-reference card looks good for being as quiet(the Toxic 5870/5850 had good rep for it) but Idk if it will OC any better.

Go for the DirectCu. It's quiet and will keep your card cool.

In all honesty...spend the extra $50 or so and get the 6950 2GB and unlock it. Much more worth the money.

If he decides to go that route, he better get a 6950 now before the newer unlockable ones come out.
