Not sure on this, but they mentioned the 6 core i7, which would lead one to believe that its the 8 core (4 module) BD that they are referring to. since the only True 6 core i7 is the 980x/970x that list for over $900 a CPU if Bulldozer 8 core is $500 then the 6 core will be on par for less.
I dont think the idea of bulldozer is to take over all Intel chips with 1 release of a new chip. What they are trying to do is match the i7 performance (even the high end) for a lot less. If they can keep the Performance up which consumers want/need and the price lower they should see more sales as the performance per $ is better.
Right now the 1100T X6 is comparable to a unover-clocked low clocked i7 (some say i5)... So they need something for the higher end market, and it sounds like they have gotten it. But will need to see the bench marks and real like practicals to see the true performance.
