Fried my Evga GTX580 Superclocked!!!! - Page 3

I killed my GTX 570, (I assume) due to foolishly running the voltage too high http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/8919...l#post11851403

Burdner, I managed to beat you... mine died on the 1st day I had it, was very gutted.

I couldn't see any burns on the card (since I didn't take the heatsink or fan off) but there was a very heavy burnt smell. Card was completely dead... computer wouldn't turn on and GTX 570 fans would run at 100%

Thanks mate at least someone here had the same problem as me and knows exactly that this can happen as most people here just like to call newbies "trolls" which is pretty pathetic when im trying post up something to see if anyone had an idea as to why this happened to my card. Jesus you fried yours on the first day, you didnt waste anytime there messing about with it did you
My fans or nothing are working, completely dead, RIP my gtx580
Have a pic of it here will put it up in a few mins.

I was thinking the exact same thing... I have a 570 reference which has the exact same PCB as 580's and it does NOT have the cut out... The smell of a troll seems to be getting even stronger.

Here's the reference GTX580... note there are no cut outs...

Also, the code for the GTX480 is "GF100-375-A3" which can be seen in your picture. The GTX580 is "GF110-375-A1". I do not believe NVIDIA has a newer stepping yet.

GTX480

Burdner, can I see a full shot of your GPU die?
You sure this isn't a Galaxy GTX 470/480?

*edit: dammit, Duckie beat me to it.
