e7500 OC [help]

Thread Starter
Hi guys,

I'm trying to OC my e7500 and now I'm at 3663MHz (11x333) ..
I'm using ORTHOS to stress (Large, in-place FTTs) and on these settings it's not stable (bluescreen, win restarts)
core v1.3 and it's not stable, I've just increased it to v1.312 and now testing ...
EIST and C1E are off ..

How long should I test it to be certain it is stable ?

I want to reach 4.0GHz, it is my sig rig, what do you think ??

Any suggestions are welcome ...

I would run tests for 30mins-hour maybe like 10 runs of linX.
4.0ghz should be reachable if temps are ok etc, hope it goes well .

Will do, would that reduce requisite of core voltage ??

I'm not sure the mobo is going to provide me enough FSB (10.5x400 would be great)

it just depends on your chip. you may need to raise the northbridge voltage though. also, i hear that chips prefer to have even number multi.... meaning they like 10x over 10.5. trial and error

The trick to OC'ing with your board are the reference voltages.

For an E7500 try using a cpu multiplier of .65.

(Take your fsb termination voltage, I have mine at 1.26 as a comparison and multiply it by .65, round up to the nearest cpu reference voltage).

This should get you booting

It also helps with your NB but I don't remember the multiplier off hand. I believe it's .67.

EDIT: Read op now lol, Set fsb to 400, multiplier on the cpu page to x10 and ram to 2.00 so it runs at 800 mhz. See if that works.

No, try using a higher voltage then tuning down. Works a bit easier than going up. Don't go higher than 1.3625vcore.

Well for 10x400 or 364x11 i don't think I'll need to raise NB voltage

@ chevymeister : "For an E7500 try using a cpu multiplier of .65." sorry i don't get this ?! what do you mean by that??

"EDIT: Read op now lol, Set fsb to 400, multiplier on the cpu page to x10 and ram to 2.00 so it runs at 800 mhz. See if that works."
well that is my final goal at least for now

Erm, sorry.. Just waking up I mean just take your termination voltage and multiply it by .65. (Meant multiply by variable) And I would try 400x10 preferably. 364 would either have overclocked or underclocked ram.

Example : .65 * 1.26 = 0.819 (When setting CPU reference/GTL whatever your bios calls it) put in this number or round up to the nearest voltage).
