i7 950 Temps

Thread Starter
Actually its the second time i post something like this, my i7 950 reaches pretty high temps (thats how i think) with Noctua NH-D14:

Stock (3.07Ghz /w HT On): Idling at 41-48C and Load 65-70C
OC (3.8Ghz /w HT Off): Idling at ~50C and Load 85C

I seen some people that overclocked their i7 920 to 4Ghz and they reached 85C with prime95, but was pretty happy with that temps.

So where is the problem? Extra info: TIM is Noctua NH-N1, CPU Load performed with prime95 Blended test and temps were readed with RealTemp.

Sorry for so much text .
Thanks in advance.

What are your ambient tempertures? Have you tried reseating the Heatsink and try to use a different TIM apply method?

My ambient room temperature is around 28 and I'm on a intel stock cooler(soon to be NH-D14 ) and I don't even reach 70 on load... and I idle around 50. Have you tried reseating the Heastink?

Btw your System is totally overkill on that 17 inch screen lol

3.8 OC with HT off, 50 idle and 85C with a D14 is way high unless you live in very hot climate.

It would be high with HT on. D14 wouldn't break a sweat in cooling 3.8 with HT off.
What is you Vcore and QPI?
