if both options are the same price it's better to go with a single gpu.

If price is the same and performance is the same... there is no reason to go with dual GPUs unless you are running more than 2 monitors.
Once again...

I prefer 1 GPU. However, 2 lower end cards can usually exceed the performance of one GPU. Take my 2 Galaxy GTX460 768 cards for $205 after MIR. They rival 1 GTX580 that is $500.

I have nenver has SLI or CF issues so far. I have had single card dual GPU issues with both the 5970 cards I owned.

the main reason i made this thread because I'm building new computer this week

i5 2500k $225
asusp8p67 $160 or pro $190
ram $65
Gpu - ati 6970 2gb $370 or dual ati 6850 Crossfire around $360

Now if i get go with dual ati 6850 set up I have to get asus p8p67 pro which support 8x8x crossfire and regular version of p8p67 support only 16x4x crossfire basically I have to spend $30 more benefit from 8x8x crossfire set up.

or i can save up little more money get asus p8p67 with single gpu ati 6970

what you guys think ?

I'd rather have 1. Even if 1 GPU offered 90% of the performance of 2 GPUs for exactly the same price.

Go single gpu but don't take a 6970. Get a 6950. The 6950's can be unlocked to become 6970's, giving you the same performance (as a normal 6970) but at a lower price.

Single GPU.
Microstutter with dual GPUs is a nightmare, its like a game is in a perpetual state of lagging out.

I prefer single GPU, Ive had SLI issue in the past so I'm sticking to a single powerful card.
