Though I prefer 1 GPU 2 x 6850 will kill 1 6970

I ran 58xx cards in CF trouble free, no micro stutter.

After crossfire issues with drivers, single gpu is the way to go (for me) I have had zero issues with my 480, what can I say I love it.

Go with the 6970 and forget the myriad of warranty voiders who want you to buy the 6950!

Better yet buy the 570

Either way never use CFX for dual-gpu. If you need or want more than 1 GPU ever buy nVidia. SLI is leaps and bounds ahead of CFX, not for performance, but for "Quality" performance.
