Fallout 3 question.

So I have the regular Fallout 3 and since I am almost done with it (just blew up Raven Rock) I bought the GOTY edition for the DLC's, so my question is are they compatible with each other? Or am I going to have to uninstall the regular edition and then do a fresh install with the GOTY edition?

These aren't from steam, they are hard copies.

I don't know what is on either disc, but try putting in the GOTY disc and see if the installer offers you just the DLC. If not, check out the file structure on the disc, the DLC will likely be packaged in its own installers and require the main game to be uninstalled.

I don't think you can use your regular fallout 3 saves with the goty edition. 2 seperate games.

I’m pretty sure you can use your old saves. I’m not sure if you have to reinstall everything thou. The only difference is GOTY comes with the expansion packs so I would think that you could install them separately.
