I thought the same on how useless it was while my friend who's had every iPhone since launch was always telling me how awesome of a feature it was. When I finally got a smartphone, I found out it's definitely a nice feature to have.

This. Another example would be to open up notepad while talking and jot down info really quick if you don't have pen/paper around. I do this ALL the time, alot more than what I realized until today when people started mentioning the lack of talk/app usage.
I wonder if you can still use notepad with the verizon one considering that notepad doesnt use any online connectivity. Makes sense no? But my thinking is that they may block you from closing Phone.app without loosing the call.

Anyways, this is great. Share the love across the network.
Yes, competition is good and all but honestly this means one big thing:
More market share for the apps.
This attracts A LOT more developers I believe and thus more apps, quality ones as well. There is way more money to be made than ever before, therefore more ideas and quality put into apps.

My mom has been waiting on these rumors for months. She's getting one on day 1.

Right, you don't like the device therefore anyone that does is an idiot.

Nobody is mad, the release of the iPhone on Verizon is a stupid move designed to trick the consumer into buying an inferior device.

Not what I said, I said it's an inferior device. Never said I don't like it. It's got its uses with hipsters and socialites. Anyone that buys one though, is an idiot.

I think he means that people are an idiot if they buy the iPhone 4 right NOW due to LTE which is already up and running, and new phones supporting it are due out within the month. Personally I agree... Anyone who does buy it in my opinion isn't that smart. Especially with the fact Apple refreshes this device yearly, meaning the iPhone 4 is already over half it's life as the revision will be out this summer, most likely supporting LTE.

Unless someone buys it with a 1 year contract, or just has money to blow I personally would hold off. UNLESS there's an LTE antenna in there that just needs to be activated via software like a few Android phones that are out now.

I agree it IS an inferior device. My Droid X makes the iPhone look retarded plain and simple. The saving grace however to the iPhone 4 is it's display, though it SHOULD be bigger.

Display is a moot point imo if comparing to either the Droid Bionic, Droid Incredible (AMOLED), Droid X (4.3 inch), or the Samsung line of phones.

Yes, because the phones he listed all have LTE.

Considering I have an EVO, an Epic 4G, an iPad, and I've used an iPhone 4 a LOT, I think neither of you have a clue.

If Apple was going to release the newest revision on both networks at once, I'm sure they would have waited til June to announce it was coming to Verizon.

I imagine the next iPhone to roll with HPSA+ for ATT and LTE for Verizon. Is ATT moving to LTE?
Yeah, AT&T is planning on have LTE with HSPA+ for areas that haven't had LTE rollout yet. Not a bad plan, but with them being so slow, verizon will probably be a better deal for many with full LTE coverage in more places.

Fixed for you. I love my captivate, which I bought over an iPhone because it suited my needs better. I'm not an iPhone fanboy by any means. Doesn't mean other people don't like and/or prefer iOS/iPhone more.

Notepad should be fine. It's Voice and Data (not sure, but I don't think that includes wifi) that cannot happen simultaneously.

Your opinion. There are pros and cons to each. No need to be a fanboy.
