I have red just 1 review of this board, and it seems that this is a very good board, but I don't always trust those reviews. In my opinion, the best answers you get is from the consumers who actually use the products
I setup mine last night, I didn't get to do much with it yet but so far I like it.
I put the USB3 slot in the back not the front, I think it fits in a floppy slot on the front I'll double check after work.

@ scrubman, There's a new bios out v1.40,
http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.as...xtreme4&o=BIOS
Probably the easiest bios update I've even done, put the one file on a usb stick then in the bios find the update option select the file and wait for it to finish.

The front USB3 panel is 4" wide.

I used the built in OC profiles and It's running fine at 4.2 GHz right now.
I'll try some tests at this speed and watch the temps before moving higher.

Only bad things I've noticed so far

- On Windows 7 (64) Windows Update will download a driver update something "Storage"
This update disables the network connection and has to be removed to get lan\\internet back.
I installed it a few times to check, hide this update when you see it in Windows update.

- I figured I would update my OCZ Vertex SSD hard drive firmware since I was reinstalling windows. The drive is not seen by the update program when plugged into sata ports 0-3 only 4 or 5. I didn't try m1/m2.

- When shutting down, Windows shuts down in 1-2 seconds then the power takes a good 20-30 seconds to go off.

people need to stop getting hung up on power phases... considering sb is 32nm anything over 8+2 seems like overkill / dont worry about it unless you plan on doing LN2/DICE runs.. and even then, i still wouldnt worry about it

asrock extreme4 is very hard to beat at $150

Very weird "bugs". Perhaps a future bios update or something will make those problems go away. What many volts are you giving your CPU? And what does the temps show, and what CPU cooler do you have? Those are some nice clocks, but what is your target? 4.8-5 Ghz ? Hopefully you will reach some nice high and stable clocks!

This is great info! Thank you! I will prob build Friday night. I will prob not update the bios right away and see if it behaves any differently than what you experienced.

Work is keeping me really busy, I haven't been home to use it much.
The CPU voltage is still set to auto (1.3511v) which I know isn't a good idea but I haven't had time to adjust it yet, I'm still on the stock fan\\hs too. I just bought way too much to stuff for this build it's almost all new and I'll wait until I pay off the credit card to buy extra stuff like aftermarket cooling.

The CPU on load temp is around 115f in a 69f room, idle temps are about the same. I'm not really going to push the OC on the stock fan\\hs I read some people are OK at 4.5 Ghz I would be really happy with that on the stock setup.

Had some time today, Still 4.2 Ghz but took the voltage off auto and set it to 1.2v for now. Took a good 10f off the temps.

Also for everyone else that's getting this board it looks like a few of the drivers on AsRock's site are one version behind, not that it matters much I like to start with the current drivers. All 3 Intel, LAN, USB3 and the audio (not that I use the built in sound).
