So I updated my extreme4 gen3's bios to 2.10, and it said that it completed successfully, but I can't get it to post now. It was throwing error code a9 in the dr. debug, so i tried resetting the cmos. Now i have error code d6. Nothing has shown up on the screen since the update. Am I SOL? I ordered another bios chip off ebay, so hopefully i will be able to get it to boot with that. Is there any way for me to roll back the bios, or flash it while it isn't functioning properly?

kartcrg84, how did you update the uefi (which method)???

A9 = Start of Setup, in other words first boot hang. Not very helpful their...
D6 = No Consol Outpot Devices Found. In other words no gpu detected.

If you have a radeon 6000 / 5000 series gpu, many others have had issues with compatibility on this board, especially after current bios update. Just type No Consol Outpot Devices Found into google and see for yourself, even if you don't own one (might help ynk).

I hope you get this resolved, check the seating of you card and try booting the system with only 1 stick of ram, all the usual troubleshooting staples really.

Good luck, please update us on your status with this issue, I'm routing for ya! 50

Has there been any successful BIOS updates for P67 Extreme4 Gen3s? I have not been keeping up.

Nope, not in this thread anyway. I wouldn't try it.

No need to replace the chip. ASRock has software to fix your problem. Contact ASRock or send a PM to Yetyhunter, he can probably send it to you.

Luckily they sent me a special BIOS which rewrites the intel firmware and I was able to roll back to the previous BIOS.Took a week but it.s fixed now.
And to radier which said before it was a user related problem because I broke my board this is proof it was asrock's fault ,they did not specify that the B3 version is needed.

Hi, I'm going to buy a Asrock P67 pro3.

Can I set manually the multipliers in turbo mode with this board?
For example I'd like to set (with fixed voltage):

4400mhz with 4 active cores
4300mhz with 3 active cores
4200mhz with 2 active cores
4100mhz with 1 active cores

Thank in advance!

According to the note at the bottom of the UEFI download:

"After updating this BIOS, please flash newer versions only."

...but whether or not there are any actual problems or incompatibilities reverting to older UEFI versions afterwards remains to be seen.

Well, I already received my bios chip, threw it in, and bam - booted right up. Then I decided I would do something dumb. I tried redownloading and reflashing the bios, and now I'm back where I started. I'm pretty sure I have the b3 version? (bios spash screen says so). Anyways, has anyone seen a fix to the problem yet? I'm going to pm yetyhunter. Thanks for the help so far, let's get this figured out.

Nice... So your right back where you started. Hmmm, can't say I wouldn't have tried the same thing. Lesson learned tho right, order 2 of everything from now on (within reason off course). I would deffinetly message Yety or get in touch with ASRock, don't buy another chip, save your money. Good luck, hope it all works out. smile.gif
