I think radier is complaining about the general attitude of people asking for help without trying to solve the problem themselves, though it could have been phrased more politely I guess.

Hi all, I'm considering this board and wanted to know if the mosfet covers that say "Digi Power" and "Extreme" are removable? I would think heat would get collected under there. Thanks in advance.

They're removable with screws on the Extreme4. They cool just fine as said in the last reply, maybe a change in TIM would benefit a little, but not necessary.

These don't have any heat/burning issues if that's what you're concerned about. At least that I know of personally anyway.

Hey guys... so I got my build setup running the Asrock P67 Pro Fatal1ty mobo with the Hyper 212+ and had no problems fitting my 4 sticks of 16GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM (just barely fit though).

I have a question though... does the video card have to be placed in the top-most slot for PCI Express 2.0x16?

I have a Sapphire Radeon HD 6970 and decided to put it in the second slot (also labelled as 2.0x16 in the mobo manual) to create some more space between all the components for better airflow. When I look in the ATI catalyst control center I see that it says Graphics Bus Capability = PCI Express 2.0 and Maximum Bus Setting = PCI Express 2.0x8. Shouldn't it say PCI Express 2.0x16?

Should I move my GPU into the top most slot instead?

Thanks!

@gunit use the first PCI Slot it is 16x. The second one is 8x and if you are running Crossfire they will run at 8x/8x

This Intel SSD looks tempting at ~$220. I just wonder if I should hold out for a SATA III drive instead?

The performance difference between x16 and x8 is minimal, but if you want the absolute best you should use it in the top x16 slot.

I think Radier is lacking quite a bit of patience for people. And people are lazy, yes. But also what is the point of a board like this if the answer is just "hey dummy, figure it out yourself". People come to these boards for advice because someone else may have had the same problem and/or knows how to quickly say "this is what you do". Its different when people are too lazy to even read back several pages or search the threads, but if you've done that and your question isnt answered, I think you should be able to ask. Even if it means Radier calls you a dummy.

Its pretty bad though when some of the questions people ask here could be easily be answered by reading the manuals...

I just hope the person who posted on the previous page asking if this is how the processor sits was joking.
