I think you mean AHCI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AHCI). My Dell OptiPlex 780 system at work has no SSD, but uses AHCI, so it's safe to make use of it.

Thanks. Ok now another question:

Im running IntelBurn test with 3 threads at max. stress. Temps on realtemp are recording (max) 76, 83, 82, 80

My settings:
Multi: 48x
Turbo boost power limit: 250/250/150
PCH Voltage: 1.012v
CPU PLL Voltage: 1.857v
VTT Voltage: 1.116v
VCCSA Voltage: 0.925v

Vcore I have it set to auto and per CPUz its recording ~1.3V. Now are the temps too high or can I push for 5ghz?

Those temps are up there. I'd get better cooling for 5GHz

what is the difference between the extreme 4 and 6? what is different about pro3 and extreme 4? Are there any significant difference about these boards?
and i dont plan to sli or crossfire but i do plan on overclocking.

I am using a Extreme6 and had a question. When I shut down my PC none of my USB ports stay powered. I use a g930 and a Mamba and both need to be charged to use but they never get the opportunity to charge overnight. Is this the case for everyone?

This compare page should answer these questions nicely:

Do you lose your saved OC profiles when you update the bios?

The Extreme6 has more VRM phases which means possibly better overclock, but the 10 phases of the Extreme 4 and Pro 3 will also give very good overclocks if you have a good cooler; if your chip is capable you can still hit 5 GHz+ with 10 phases like the Extreme4 and Pro3.

So if you never want to go with multiple graphics cards or anything else that would require a PCI express slot larger than 1x the Pro 3 would work fine for you. But I would recommend the Extreme 4 simply for the additional PCI Express options and the USB 3.0 bracket; the board is just great bang for your buck
