I am seeing a lot of Extreme4 Boards.. was wondering if there are any success overclocking stories for the Pro3.

The board is good, very good, I wasn’t even having an issue with it, but as all B2 models were recalled I thought best to send it back for exchange (under the terms from Asrock), before I came across any issues, probably outside of warranty. It’s the retailer I am having issues with, when I get the board back I will say who the retailer is.

I picked up the z68 extreme4, updated the bios to 1.5 version and did the auto over clocking to 4.6. seem pretty stable when running prime95 & intelburn for 24 hours but sometimes when i open cpuz or ASRock Extreme Tuning Utility I see 1.6 instead of 4.6 sometimes. is that some sort of auto speed adjustment it does on its own? Also I've notice when booting up it stays in the bootup logo screen for a while and on the bottom right corner that shows show 98,B4,A3. is that normal?

Yes, when it's idle, it clocks itself down to save power and reduce heat.

Not sure about the 98, B4, A3 though...

My first p67 was the pro3. My 2500k reached 5.3ghz with it, though that was really its wall. I just didn't like the buggy uefi when i had it. LLC disappears when you change the multiplier.

I don't believe so. Just make sure you plug the SSD into the SATA3_0 or SATA3_1 ports, NOT the Marvell ports. and set any storage settings you find to AHCI
