Building My First Ground-Up Setup, Plz Halp - Page 3

Im not trolling you, I am saying i have seen so many threads about guys that get SSDs and after about 9 months their speed decreases greatly, which completely defeats the purpose of having an SSD anyway.

that is because they probably did not align them, don't have TRIM support, and don't use garbage collection.

in almost all of those threads as soon as they reformat with a fresh install the speed is back.

Seems to have everything I need. Whaddya think?

If that one works, I just need to find a case that can fit it all, with some room for fans.

To get out of the SSD debate, but more to the substance - upgrading to an SSD is one of a great way to tangibly see your "enthusiast" pc. Having applications open when you release the mouse button never gets old.

This example might not be relevant to everyone but with an SSD you can restart your system while playing WoW and get back in before your character will register as disconnected.....

They are relatively expensive but moving from a traditional hard drive to an SSD will give you a more noticible "improvement" than many other upgrades.

Looks good! Solid board.

If you are like me and love the rugged and powerful look of the HAF series cases, I would take a look at the HAF 932. Plenty of "room for fans" with that guy .

You are also saying this while running a over the top system with two of the most expansive single gpu cards available. so how can you even say what costs too much.
Way to contribute to the thread.

You are also saying this while running a budget system with one of the cheapest single gpu cards available. So how can you even talk about SSD's?

See, I can be a retard too.

Since when is a 5770 the cheapest single gpu cards? have you seen the number of guys on OCN with 5770's?
You don't even have your system specs filled out, so for all we know you are running an HP or something.

I know the 5770 isn't the cheapest card, I was just saying that for arguments sake. Someone's build shouldn't have anything to do with their knowledge of SSD's is the point I'm trying to make.

Also, I'm picking up a P8P67 Pro and an i5-2500k with an HD 6950 which will hopefully unlock to a 6970, if that matters at all. Whenever the Microcenter by me has more cpu's in.

Might want to consider this for a SSD http://www.overclock.net/online-deal...gb-snv425.html, it's pretty cheap right now. I have an SSD in both my comps, and I'll never install an OS on a HDD ever again
