1st time water cooled system

Thread Starter
Just ordered the XSPC kit and discovered this thread. I'm sure all the information I need is in here so I apologize for the lack of searching but I do have a couple of questions.

-I will be installing this kit in my Cooler Master Storm Scout. Based off this picture, I'd like to duplicate this setup, Unless there is a better setup for this case.
Attachment 189461
-I've been reading it is recommended to flush the loop before installing it. I imagine this is done outside of the case, correct? Also, what is the best "flushing" method and what should I use?

-Again, with the lack of research before I purchased, I bought the kit with Feser UV Acid Green coolant. Jeff from FrozenCPU.com said this coolant will work just fine but I've read here that Feser Ultra Pure water is the way to go with the help of additives. Am I at any risk or disadvantage running the UV Acid green coolant?

- How do I prevent or remove air bubbles?

- any words of wisdom or tricks for installing this kit. Possibly some decent youtube tutorial videos out there? I'd search but youtube is blocked at work. Thanks for reading!

One more thing. I occasionally attend LAN parties and I often transport my PC. Am I taking a HUGE risk doing so with a water loop? Should I drain the coolant before hand?

don't use any kind of coolants, they will gunk up the blocks and have higher temps.

the best thing to use is distilled water and a few drops of pt nuke or a killcoil.

This distilled water I can probably find locally but not sure on the additives. Any idea what kind of store would carry such a thing?

It's not local, but the stuff I have ordered from FrozenCPU has gotten to me in 2 to 3 days.

Here is the killcoil at frozenCPU.com

Here is the PT Nuke from sidewinders, another trusted watercooling provider.

If you have to get it local, you could try a jeweler and see if they have some 99.999% silver. Might cost you an arm and a leg though.

Ok i also agree don't use coolant use distilled water and pt nuke or coil. Most ppl clean the radiators with HOT water.
A good res will prevent bubbles.
Take your time installing, make sure you don't kink any tubes and make sure tube is fully over barbs to the base.
As for lan..... i have done so many times with no problems. Just try not to abuse it during transport.

I agree with the last two posts concerning your liquid/biocide. For flushing, some people let the rad soak in vinnegar, however I just let it soak in warm/hot water and shook it around a bit. Be careful though, it will get hot.

Be sure to check this thread out, theres a wealth of information in here.
http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...l-threads.html

For youtube videos, here are Juggalo's videos. I found them very useful when doing my first loop.
http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...l#post10987905

I've moved my PC a few times with my loop installed now and while it is a risk, it should be fine if you take the right precautions. Double check all of your fittings and tubing before and after the transport to make sure nothing wiggled loose. Just be careful and you'll be fine.

Lots of videos about how to install RASA.

I built one up for my brother last week for his AMDx6. FYI-there are no instructions included for AM3 socket, you need to use screws and no backplate. As I said hop on Google.

Ok so I'm going to order the distilled water as well as the KillCoils or PT_Nuke. Since I live in Cali, the additional items won't get here til next week. So can I run the Coolant for now and once I get the distilled h2O + additives I can just drain the coolant and replace?
