7200 RPM hard drive question!?

i see these HDs that are 7200 RPM at 6Gb/s transfer speed. Are these a gimmick or are they quick? i dont really wanna throw down for an SSD quite yet

6Gb/s is the Sata interface speed and no mechanical drive is ever going to see such speeds...

Yeah really I would think Sata III is only gonna be utilized by SSD and even those crucial SSDs are having about the same performance in Sata II.

The Crucial C300 have been bottlenecked by SATA 3Gb/s.

There are a few SSDs coming out this year that will hit 400-500MB/s.

they are quick for hard drives but no mechanical drive can touch a ssd
