Getting a mech keyboard. Advice? - Page 2

Personally, it's not the volume of the blues that bothers me, its how often you hear the board. If you bottom out your keys then you get two clicks per keystroke...just gets annoying to me. I much prefer non-clicky boards.

I have a Das with no labels on the keys I love it to death would not trade it for any other KB.

The blues are great! They are audible but I still think they are quite a bit quieter than the average IBM Model M. I have used this KB for competitive gaming more than once and have no trouble.

If you are willing to wait, XArmor is supposedly coming out with a browns backlit board sometime this month or two.

Make sure to first get a cheap and or easily returnable board to ensure that you actually like it.

I personally went through quite a few mech boards before I stopped on the one that I actually liked (which was originally model M, but I then switched to Unicomp 104/105 SpaceSaver which is basically a more space friendly version.)

In other words, here is the switch pattern that I went through: black ALPS -> MX blacks -> Buckling Springs.

Hehe the exact opposite here, I love the clickyness of the blues.
