Check the bios, maybe two off the cores are disabled there.

In your Bios go to Advanced and then I think "chipset" there should be a item that says "active cores" make sure it is on "all"

Turbo is automatic, so unless you plan on overclocking, there is no need to interfere with it.... If your operating system requires more processing power, the turbo makes your CPU go faster.

Also, it is quiet weird that you're only seeing 2 cores.

If you just upgraded from dual core, you probably need to go to msconfig>>boot>>advanced options and check number cores.

Also make sure in bios all cores are enabled.

bottom line either bios issue or windows issue.

What does real temp say? Open up performance monitor and see how many threads are active.

I wonder if there is some sort of power overiding thing going on on the MB.....

Or Win Resource Monitor-it can show the individual threads.

I'm thinking an RMA may be in the future.

I just posted this in a earlier thread you made about this but to add my 2 cents to the discussion:

I had this problem as well, I was upgrading my system and it caused this, I tried re-seating several times and that did not solve it. I ended up doing:

"Using msconfig, go to the boot > advanced settings and uncheck the number of processors. "

That I found from the website: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/27...-cores-threads

I found that they were all enabled in the BIOS and they were just not being found by windows, it appears that I confused at some point during the upgrade, though all I kept from the old system was my hard-drive.

Hope this helps!

EDIT: You have to restart after unchecking this to let anything happen.
