How to Photograph your Rig - Page 17

I recommend getting some cheap 'Clamp lamps' from Home Depot/OSH that can hold 100W bulbs. I used two in those first pics. In the write-up, I have a section talking about different kinds of lights, but that will be a few more days.

I aint reading 17 pages and search function is currently disabled in OCN; But if it hasn't been mentioned before...

To get that clean white (or whatever colour) background you are after, bed sheets are brilliant for that. Stick say half of it on the wall and the other half taped to the ground, but make sure when taping it down there is a curve at the 90deg - no lines in the background just a flat colour.
And if you're not gonna use photoshop, it helps to iron the sheet first too.

Nice, a few comments:

1: The case is so busy inside that I think a closer shot would help bring us in a bit. The brightest part of the photo always has a way of catching our eye, and in this one it's the background.

2: You're experimenting with multiple lights, and that's awesome. Keep trying different combination of hard/soft or near/far. The backlight is nice, and it's almost a must in these types of photos. It makes that front panel grill look soooo sexy.

Solid job, I'd say an 8/10

However... as for the case, those silver edges REALLY would be sweet if they were painted black.
