How to Photograph your Rig - Page 63

http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Home/Product_Finder/Cameras/Digital_Camera/IXUS/ixus_300_hs/ - is this he one Markerx?

does it have super digital macro? try some shots in that mode, I know my friends little ixus has that feature and it's pretty good for a small canon.

are you wanting more from your photos?

is this on a tripod? if not try it again either with one or set the shutter to 1/125 to cut down on camera shake - put the iso up a bit more if you need (you know your chip can take it wink.gif)
apart from that, yeah ,the depth is great, 1.2f will do that for you smile.gif - as a rule, if I'm in manual (which I was pleasently suprised to see you were according to your exif data) I don't go below 1/125 if I can help it when handheld.
If this is on a tripod then somethings wrong with the set up of it to allow the shake.
nice one though, keep it up! thumb.gif
I knew that someone would have the sharp eye to criticize about this tongue.gif took the shot without the tripod, tried it but couldn't get the angles I wanted
to be honest I was so stupid not to invest in a good tripod and I've had troubles taking the shot when the rig is on the floor.
Tried to stick with iso 100 since the lighting in the room I shot is just unbelievably bad and the yellowy curtain made the white balance so wrong . I'll find a better spot next time, was too lazy to find the spot and carry that heavy rig on a table at the time of the shot since I went straight 2 hours to update the water cooling doh.gif

Nice composition, it really shows off the dramatic curve in the tubes. The lighting is excellent, and I love how the blue contrasts with the silver and golden tones on the CPU block. You have a good eye thumb.gifthumb.gif

you are off to a good start but need to work on your framing.

even if you do not have a DSLR camera these guides will still be very helpful for you thumb.gif

keep shooting and sharing your photos. the best way to improve your photography is from feedback from others to help you see mistakes or areas needing improvement that someone would generally miss when evaluating their own work biggrin.gif

agreed, my main reason for commenting is to try to part my knowledge to get the best out of people - there is some great work on here and some really nice compositions - if I come across as patronising I'm sorry - I submit my work to people far more experienced than me and their notes help me to be better. I don't always agree as peoples responses to certain images are different but I do try not to take it personally (a hard personal lesson to learn for me - so I know I could offend without meaning too) thumb.gif

sorry to be the nitpicker! you may get away without using a tripod... if you shoot in raw the white balance shouldn't matter but I know what you mean. try what I suggested, bump the iso up to compensate for the shutter speed! or move it and get a good tripod tongue.gif (I still like it anyway btw)

Used my old Fujifilm 5 Megapixel camera and a monitor as a lighting to take this shot:

Lowering iso to 100 in my case makes a big of difference too thumb.gif
