[CVG] Ubisoft: PC 'still an important platform' for Assassin's Creed - Page 4

Wow, what is wrong with you people? I'm sure Ubisoft isn't happy that they are treating us like dirt pirates, but they just want their money's worth. If it meant putting DRM in a game to put some money in the bank, wouldn't you do the same?

I mean come on, are you guys offended when you walk into a bank that has security cameras?

No but I would be offended if they wanted a cavity search and would quit banking there if they did.

An inconvenience the pirates don't have to put up with. Any way you slice it, it is on the leading edge of "inconvenient" DRM.

I lost all faith in ubisoft after what I saw what they did to SC. SCDA was mildly crappy, but it was still a stealth game at least. FC2 was mildly annoying, (for reasons that get parroted enough that they should be known) but at least it didn't suck.

One doesn't need to be a Kotick lovers to hate on Ubisoft, you can just hate both

While I agree that they should get their money's worth, the DRM isn't working when the pirate can play the game DRM free with less issues then their customers. As much as I hate DRM, I can put up with a one time activation once installed and maybe install limits provided you can revoke before uninstalling, but, having a DRM where you must keep an internet connection is just unacceptable. I wanted to give the AC series a try, but, stopped once I read about that :/

Also, I'm very disappointed with Ubisoft and the route they took with the POP series. The gameplay of the first series was solid, great atmosphere, combat, etc.... then they released their latest one and took all of what made POP great(large combat, challenging gameplay, interesting story, etc....) :/

brotherhood is currently paused on my PS3, havnt stopped playing it, trying to do everything. its as big as a GTA game. better than the second, which was great.

cant wait to see what the PC could do though. the PS3 lags pretty bag in some areas, especially during massive fights.

No, but if that bank had security guard followed me at all times and makes sure my hands were always visible, so if i reached into my pocket to get something, and he pulls his gun and says get on the ground. Notice that he is treating me like a criminal there, not a customer.

I wouldnt be banking there.

I do not like being treated like a thief. Pirates have broken Ubisoft DRM and can play without any kind of hassle. So that just leaves the legitimate customer paying the price.

It is something i refuse to do, i will never buy another ubisoft product until they change their ways. I also refuse to buy Activision products any longer until they start taking the time to release a legit PC version of the game, and dont try to whore the game out for less than a years worth of life with overpriced under delivering DLC. I gave treyarch the benefit of doubt when i bought blops, as i liked them long before they were bought out and turned into treyarch.

Um, I'd just like to remind people that Ubisoft changed their DRM to internet required to start, but once its started it doesn't require constant connection anymore.

Can you show an offical link? I've looked and was not succesful. Their store and Steam both state otherwise.

Can't find an official statement from Ubisoft, but googling 'ubisoft changes drm' brings up a couple of hits.

Exactly, but not one offical source. I wouldn't trust it until Ubisoft actually publishes it. My guess a ploy to get folks to try the game and decide, "It's not that bad".

Where's my tin foil hat.
