Turion 64 X2 only 1 core 1 thread?!?!?!

Hey guys, I just swapped out a Sempron single core for a Turion X2 TL-62 in my Compaq Presario F-565.
The problem is that cpuz and windows 7 is only detecting 1 core. However the name TL-62 is displayed in both cpuz and the bios.
I have the newest Bios listed from my laptop and the processor check box in msconfig is unchecked.

Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? could it be that my bios is making windows boot into single core mode?

Any help is much appreciated.

I would bet you need to update it to a bios that would acknowledge it being a dual core. So yes i would assume so

I guess I'll have to find a similar model that comes stock with a dual core.. ugh, this means I need to remove another white list

try updating your chipset drivers in device manager

Go to device manager, delete your processors, and restart your computer
