First time planned water cooling project. Please Critique!

First, Thanks:
Skinnee Labs/Martin, and all the other people that review equipment, create guides, and contribute to this and other sites.

Background information:
I'm 28, have been building PCs for myself for about 12 years, and going to university for computer science. I've also worked for a couple years on a computer tech bench. That said, I have never done a water cooling project. I have done big spurts of research on it in the past, (and over the last couple weeks) but always decided it wasn't for me. I have decided to take the plunge. I have been doing a large amount of reading. I've read a lot at Skinnee labs, almost every thread in the watercooling essentials thread, and a ton of stuff I've found through google.

Reasons for water-cooling:
I have been an air-overclocker for some time. These over-clocks are oriented at a 24/7 overclock to get whatever free performance I can get. However, the jet-takeoff from my GPUs are driving me nuts. I want a water-cooling setup that will be mostly unnoticeable at idle, with a reduced care (just reduced) care for noise at load.

My current noise producing setup (Not the one that will be water-cooled, just reference for the noise I currently deal with):

Antec Twelve Hundred (Stock fans, all set on low)
2 HIS H489FN1GH Radeon HD 4890 1GB in Crossfire.

The system to be built (relevant to watercooling water):
GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD7 LGA 1155 (for the dual 16x slots)
i5-2500k (possibly to be upgraded with the Q4 launch of new SandyBridge CPUs)
To be released 6970 or 6990 Eyefinity 6 models in SLI (depends on performance numbers across 3 and 6 monitors)
Undecided RAM
OCZ RevoDrive x2 240GB
For cases I've been looking at the TJ11 (based on what information I can find)

I do plan on overclocking both GPU's and the CPU, most I would consider is a small voltage increase.

Planned watercooling:

CPU Block: EK Supreme HF #1 Plate
GPU Blocks: 2 GPU blocks (undecided)

Rads: HW Labs SR1 560 x 2 (1 mounted in the bottom, the other mounted in the front. I will dremel the case if I have to get it to fit in the front, I have no need for drive mounts other than a single optical drive, and fan controller(s) if used

Fans: ? I've read the tons of roundups that exist for 120mm fans, but there rightly seems to be much less to be found on 140mm fans. I just can't seem to find any good roundups that contain information that is reliable. I need some direction. Articles, advice...what do I use? For reference, if I were doing rads with 120mm mounts, I'd be looking at Gentle Typhoons 15B likely under-volted at idle. I am perfectly willing to push-pull both of them in order to get that performance with as little sound as possible.

Pumps: Laing DDC 3.2 (MCP-355) x 2 Decided on two from the off set, allows for redundancy. I realize that all CPUs, and all new GPUs have decent thermal protection. I am not set on this, I haven't found research to convince me this is the absolute choice for me.

Top: XSPC Dual Acrylic Top for Laing DDC
Res: Undecided

Tubing: 1/2ID 3/4OD Feser Tube Active UV Hose. I would prefer to use perhaps Tygon 1/2ID 3/4OD, but I would like color, and I'd prefer not to use dye to get it. I haven't been able to deduce if all the people with gunk issues are due other stuff in the coolants they have been using, or if it is the dye itself. If I use UV line, then I can run distilled with a silver coil or two, and not have to deal with the issue.

Coolant: Distilled water
Bio: Silver Coil x2

Fittings: Compression. The extra cost is worth the peace of mind.

I am planning to run a single loop with all the equipment. This is based on some testing I read on series/parallel and dual vs single loop. (don't remember where, think it was posted by the Swiftech CEO on some forum.

Price is not a real concern (within reason).

To close (TL;DR version):
What am stupid choices am I making?
What can I do to improve my DeltaT/Noise ratio?
What would you do differently?
What 140mm fans should I use for an SR-1 560. (Push Pull Acceptable, Noise of importance.)
How the heck do I control a possible 20 fans? I don't know of any fan controller that will push that many, unless it is possible to split the headers on the controller to double/triple the fans. (No I don't want to turn 20 something knobs, I'd like to be able to have them set to turn based on temps.

Feel free to berate my choices, offer a completely different route. I have a thick skin, I just want to come out of this with the best quiet and performance I can get.

Thanks for your responses!

Edits:
I've used SkinneeLabs Pump and Rad Optimizer the best I can. Another question. Will my selections handle the heat load (I'm assuming about 850w?) with a decent deltaT? I wouldn't consider anything more than single digits to be acceptable at all. I'd like to hit closer to five degrees.

I'd like to point out the only round up on 140mm fans I could find was here: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coo...n-roundup.html

Don't get the TJ-11, it's going to retail at $600. At that price point LittleDevil's custom watercooling cases become a much better option.

I would use a 480 radiator as 120mm fans are a lot easier to acquire and generally perform better than 140mm fans simply because they have more money invested into them (because 120mm fans are much more popular). Your chances of getting a 480 radiator into a case are also much higher as more cases support that form factor.

If I was in your position I would get:

LittleDevil's PC-08 Case (Supports 2 x 480mm radiators with no modding and looks sweet)
2 x HW-Labs GTX480 Radiators
8 x Scythe GentleTyphoon AP-15 (1850 RPM) fans

With that setup you will have some amazing cooling power while still being very quiet. Martin tested a lot of 120mm fans and found the Gentle Typhoons to be the best for low-mid speed applications.

I believe I've read more than one review of the GTX480 that showed it was horrible at cooling with lower RPMs, and quiet is important to me as well. Do you feel that the HW-Labs SR-1 480s wouldn't be a better choice?

I'm also looking at the PC-08 case, and I am really liking it thus far. Thanks!

The GTX radiator isn't the greatest with lower speed fans, no. But even with just those gentle typhoon 1850 RPM fans it will be better than any other radiator available.

On second thought, I would get XSPC RX480 radiators (better than GTX and SR-1 for low speed) and GentleTyphoon 1150 RPM fans. They will be very quiet at full speed while still giving you great temperatures, even when loaded with 850w of heat dump (Around a 7C water-air delta). When the computer is idling the fans can be reduced to 500 RPM where they are literally silent.

Finally, what PSU are you using? Once you get all your other noise problems solved you may find that your PSU is too loud.

I'm looking at several options. First is a custom larger PSU housing with larger fans so it can just be aircooled, and there is always the standby of a watercooled PSU. I haven't an option I've fallen in love with yet, but I do have the issue in mind.

I will do some reading on the RX480. Thanks again.

The rads mentioned and the sr1 mentioned by you are all awesome, just depends on the speed of fan you will be using.

sr-1 series for <800 rpm
RX series for 800-1500 rpm
gtx series for 1500+ rpm

HW labs in my opinion has the best build quality of any company. I have a few rx series rads from last year and the finish was kind of lousy, but I've heard it has improved. I believe xspc now uses a similar coat to that of hw labs. You only have 850 watts of heat dump so a sr1 setup with dual 480s or even dual 360s would be more than enough. Take a look at mountain mods cases as well as danger den if you haven't already. They are both great. Charlie's mention of the little devil case is great as well. I'm always torn between the cube/ rectangular prism cases and little devil's case, but I do love my cube

Very useful information. Looks like the RX might be better for me. I had looked at Mountain Mods and Danger Den, and gave them another look. Both look like they have options that are well suited, they just aren't what I'm looking for.

Does anyone have a solution for the fan control issue?

GentleTyphoons only use 1W each even at full load so even just a 20W fan controller could easily handle all of them on a single knob.

Unfortunately, it seems that most reviews are focused on flow and PSI only. My plan is to do two MCP-350s in series. Are these going to be my best option for very quiet with performance for good deltas or should I be looking at something else?
