MSI Board wont POST with unlock CPU core disabled

I have an MSI 785GM-E51 with an AMD 550 BE processor. I have been running it for months now with all cores unlocked. I decided today I wanted to go ahead and turn it back into a dual core to save on some electricity, heat, and noise. I went to the BIOS and disabled core unlocking. After rebooting the computer now I get nothing, no text, monitors don't come on, keyboard num lock doesn't light up. I went ahead and reset the CMOS, issue still persists. I tried putting an old graphics card in it (I use IGP normally), still no luck. Running out of ideas. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

similar mobo MSI 785GM-P45 with a 560be

reset cmos, and it booted right up again
make sure its off and unplugged from power, move the jumper for 1-2secs then back again

boot to bios and set ram timings, voltages, boot order ect..

Unfortunately I already reset the CMOS a few times and it didn't make a difference. This is happening after I disabled core unlocking (so its a two core now).

I ripped out all the ram. Tried to boot it, beeped a couple times, put the ram back in. Now it posts. =]
