Should have some images this evening or tomorrow.

I just checked the tracking information on the T60, and it is "Out for delivery".

Thanks, Behemoth777.

I am in the high-hopes that the socket burn was indeed an isolated incident.

In a couple of weeks I may pull the cooler and the CPU and inspect the socket for signs of "burn".

Yes. I am very pleased with W7 so far.

It will be nice to finally play some games with DX10/DX11. Although I don't expect anything earth-shattering, it will be a good new experience.

Update:

I have collected some panels, a couple of fans, some aluminum angle, and some mounting hardware in anticipation of making a front panel for the T60

Pics later today or tomorrow.

Okay, Guys.

I got the T60 assembled and the initial wiring done. The cable management on this unit is like most other fully open-air units: 0/10

I'll be doing a little more tidying up to try and ease the eyesore. Fortunately this is temporary.

I also verified that the existing panel that I have will fit. As Providence would have it, is is almost exactly the same width as the motherboard tray. Yay!

Once I get the modded front-panel on I will post pics, but first I need to bond another 1" wide strip of acrylic perpendicularly to the panel so that I can mount it to the motherboard tray using existing holes.

Also, the top horizontal spar with the "Lian Li" logo does not fit as the Noctua is just too much of a beast!

*cheers*

Pics will be forthcoming, but not until the weekend.

I have been rather selfish with my time as I have been neglecting other projects that I should be working on.

Since there is no real fabrication needed for the mod (I found parts that would work as-is) I will be doing the assembly when I assemble the tech stations that I am working on.

Once it is done I will post the final pics of this phase.

There is one noteworthy boon to the T60: The rear PCI frame is adjustable in height.

I doubled up on the standoffs to provide more clearance between the motherboard and the motherboard tray. This helped managing the cables immensely. The unit is not quite the eyesore that it was.
